INDEX: AWARD is the largest monetary design award in the world and is presented every two years in Copenhagen. An award is given in five categories, and INDEX: awards the winner in each category with a prize of €100 000.
RIBA Awards are given for buildings that have high architectural standards and make a substantial contribution to the local environment. The awards are annual, and have been running continuously since 1966.
This article takes a detailed look at two of the main award-winning projects. The other two projects that won BIM Award citations will be discussed in the September issue of the "Building the Future" series, in which I will also share some of my perspectives as a juror for this year's BIM Awards.
For a site In the Pudong area of the city, the design proposal was for a relatively low building of 25 stories. A unique and arresting form and a functional plan with practical cores were features of the building design.
